MRS. ELSIE LITKA, 84, PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Elsie Litka, 84, 306, S. West St.,
Loyal, Clark County, died at 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 1976, at
Memorial Home, Neillsville, where she had resided since Nov. 16,
1975.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1976, at
Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, with Rev. David E. Wenger, pastor
of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood, officiating.
Pallbearers were Edwin and Oscar Bauer, Reuben and Orin Litka, Paul
Otto, and Merlin Lindner.
Mrs. Jean Voss was organist and Mrs. Verland and Erwin Dux sang How
Great Thou Art: and Heaven is My Home.
The Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
The former Elsie Foelske was born May 14, 1891 at Hartford, Wis.,
and received her education in rural Loyal schools.
She was married to Herman Litka on Nov. 17, 1909 at Loyal, and they
farmed in the Town of Beaver until 1946 when they moved to the city
of Loyal and lived in retirement. Her husband preceded her in death
on Nov. 22, 1958.
Mrs. Litka was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity
Lutheran Church Women.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Verna) Schmidt, Loyal,
two grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two
brothers and one sister.
