OBIT: Carolina (Weiss) DUDEI - Neillsville, Clark Co., WI - July 16, 1943


MRS. JOHN DUDEI


Mrs. John DUDEI, 82, Neillsville, passed away, after a year's illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl RADTKE, at 6 p.m. July 16, 1943.


Funeral services were held Monday, July 19, 1943 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jaster funeral home and at 2 p.m. from the St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. W. A. Baumann officiating, with burial in the Neillsville Cemetery.


Mrs. DUDEI was born in Germany. To this union were born five daughters. She came to this country in 1888 and had been a resident of Clark County for the past 55 years.


Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Albert (Augusta) HETZEL, West Bend, Mrs. Joe (Emma) FELSER, Neillsville, Mrs. Otto (Laura) STEINBERT STEINBERG , Fairchild, Mrs. Carl (Ida) RADTKE, Neillsville, and Mrs. John (Ella) SCHWETZENBERG SCHWICHTENBERG , West Bend.

OBIT--MRS. JOHN DUDEI, 82 DIES FRIDAY NIGHT 1943
Rites for Pioneer Resident of Clark County Planned Monday


Neillsville--Funeral services will be conducted at the Jaster Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. and at St. John's Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Monday for Mrs. Carolina DUDEI, 82, who died at her home here at 6 p.m. Friday of complications aggravated by her advanced age. The Rev. William A. Baumann will officiate and burial will take place in the Neillsville Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the time of the rites.


Caroline WEIZ WEISS was born in Germany on March 25, 1861, was educated there and married to John Johann DUDEI on Jan. 8 18 , 1885. They came to the United States in 1888 and settled on a farm in the town of Grant, Clark County.


Two years later they moved to Globe, in Weston Township, where they lived until 1918, when they came to Neillsville. Mr. DUDEI preceded his wife in death two years ago.


Surviving are five of their eight daughters Mrs. Albert (Augusta) HETZEL, West Bend Mrs. Joe (Emma) FELSER, Neillsville Mrs. Otto (Laura) STEINBERG, Fairchild Mrs. Carl (Ida) RADTKE, Neillsville and Mrs. John (Ella) SCHWITZENBERG SCHWICHTENBERG, West Bend. There are 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.


Mrs. DUDEI was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church here.
