Dus, Antionette (1911 - 1999)
Antoinette Etta (Lauer) Dus, 87, Stanley, WI, died Sunday,
January 17, 1999 in Sun City, Arizona.
Etta was born June 10, 1911 to Joseph and Minnie (VanDomelon)
DeBruin. She grew up in the Delmar area, Chippewa County and
attended the area schools. She was married to Herman (Dave) Lauer
on February 6, 1934 at St. Joseph's Church in Boyd, WI. They farmed
in Delmar for many years. Dave died in 1971. Etta moved to Stanley
and was employed at Stanley Corp. for a time. She also worked at
Northern Center in Chippewa Falls as a nurse's assistant and foster
grandparent. She was married to Steve Dus from 1976 to 1992.
Etta used to spend her winter months in Sun City, AZ. She loved
crocheting, bead work, crafts, crossword puzzles and fishing. She
was a member of Holy Family parish and St. Rita's Circle.
Surviving are one son Wayne (Annette) of Cadott, WI two daughters:
Ms. Marlene Heppner and Mrs. Sandra Koss of Stanley, WI four
Grandchildren: Terry and Bob Koss, Lauran Knar, Bruce Heppner six
Great Grandchildren: Jamie, Bobbi Jo, Alicon, Jessica, Daniel,
Michael one brother, Harold DeBruin of Boyd, WI and two sisters:
Mamie Schreve and Hazel Fisher of Stanley, WI. She is preceded in
death by her parents, 1st husband Herman (Dave) Lauer, Son-in-law,
Ted Koss, two brothers: Peter and Tom DeBruin and 1 sister, Martha
Seufzer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 1999 at Holy
Family Catholic Church, Stanley, WI at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at
Holy Family Cemetery, Stanley, WI. Friends may call at Plombon
Funeral Home in Stanley, WI from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. Friday. Rosary
service 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
