Clark County--Dyre, Annie Dyre (1873 - 1962)
Annie Eliza Peterson, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Elias Peterson was born May 26, 1873 in Greenwood and
lived here all her life and received her education here.
ON December 3, 1893 she was united in marriage to John Dyre in
Greenwood. After their marriage, they resided on a farm north east
of Greenwood. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and
it was said that Mr. Dyre passed away in 1917.
Mrs. Dyre, who has been ill for some time, passed away at the Clark
County Hospital, at Owen, WI., at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December
21, 1961. The body was brought to the Hill Funeral home.
Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 2:00
p.m. on Saturday, December 23. Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor,
officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery.
During the service Mrs. Otto Voie and Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold sany
"Behold the Host Arrayed in White" and "Heaven is My Home"
accompanied by Mrs. Don Warner at the organ.
The pallbearers were Otto Voie, Leonard Johnson, Ed Rossow, David
Danielson, Clarence Verhulst, and Kenneth Dyre.
Mrs. Dyre is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Julia) Olsen,
Loyal and Mrs. Martin (Hilda) Quast, West Allis a son, Godfrey,
Greenwood 18 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and a sister,
Mrs. Ingebord Hogue, Greenwood.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, three
sisters and a brother.
Those attending the funeral from away were Colene Dyre, Barbara
Wepfer, Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Martin Quast, Mr. and Mrs. John
Dyre, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Olsen, Milwaukee Mrs. Jim Stevens and
daughter Kai, Sun Prairie Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoffman, De Forest
Allen Quast, Whitewater Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Olsen, Marshfield Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Dunn, Eau Claire Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stuber,
Strum. Also attending were many relatives and friends from the
surrounding areas.
