Dyre, Lars E. (1842-1926)

L. Dyre died at the home of his son, Rev. A. B. Dyre , Wednesday morning, November 3rd. Funeral services will be held next Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the house and at 2:00 o'clock from the United Lutheran Church. An obituary will be printed in next week's issue of the Gleaner.

 
Mr. Lars E. Dyre was born at Froien, Norway, August 31, 1842 and died at the home of his son, Rev. A. B. Dyre, November 3, 1926, having reached the age of 84 years, 2 months and 3 days.

He came to Greenwood in June 1920 and resided at the home of Mrs. Annie Dyre for five years. Then he went to live with his son, Rev. A. B. Dyre, where he resided until death ended his earthly career.

Deceased was a fine man, a kind and loving husband and father and a good Christian.

He leaves to mourn his death five children who are Rev. A. B. Dyre, Greenwood, Wis. Gunder Dyre, Norway Mrs. Oscar Hanson, Colfax, Wis. Alfred Dyre, Meridian, Idaho, and Mrs. Ernest Gilberts, Wilder, Idaho. His wife and four children preceded him in death. He also leaves 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren besides many friends.

Funeral services were held from the United Lutheran Church last Sunday afternoon. Rev. M. K. Aaberg, Officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
