OBITUARY OF MRS. ANN EGGETT
Ann Donkin was born April 1, 1847, at Kelf,
England, where she grew to womanhood.
She was married to Robert Eggett in 1866. They came to Canada in
1883 and to Wisconsin in 1884, locating on a farm 3 miles southeast
of Greenwood, Clark County. Here they cleared land and built a
home, enduring many hardships of the early pioneer settlers.
Some twenty years ago they left the farm and bought what is now the
John Arends residence.
Mr. Eggett died in 1915 and a few years later Mrs. Eggett moved to
Texas where she and her daughter have resided.
Mrs. Eggett, after an illness of only a few days, passed away Jan.
28, 1927.
Mrs. Eggett was a woman of rare character, being of a reserved and
conservative disposition, a sincere and earnest Christian , and a
faithful friend and mother.
A family of five children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Eggett, Johnnie
having died in 1902 and William in 1905. Those left to mourn are
George Eggett of Marshfield, Wis., and Alfred and Minnie Eggett of
Enochs, Texas One sister, Hannah Smith of England, six
grandchildren and six great grandchildren, besides a host of
friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Thursday Feb.
3rd. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery, Rev. Householder
officiated.
