Gonia, Stanley (1925 - 1999)
Stanley Gonia, 74, former Hannibal area resident died at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at Riverside Hospital, Waupaca, WI.
He was born March 2, 1925 to Martin and Josephine (Ratajczyk)
Gonia. Stanley grew up in the Gilman area and served in the Navy
during World War II. He then worked on Road Construction until his
retirement about 10 years ago. He moved to the Hannibal area and
has lived there since. Stanley loved his hunting and fishing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 25, 1999, 12:00 p.m.
at the Gilman Funeral Home, Gilman, with Father Philip Juza
officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman. Military
rites was conducted by the Gilman American Legion. Visitation was
from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Gilman Funeral Home.
Survivors include four sisters: Mrs. Anna Zitella of Oak Creek, WI,
Mrs. Theresa Trawicki and Mrs. Sophie Leldo of Gilman and Mrs.
Cecelia Sromek of Thorp. He was preceded in death by his parents
and 2 brothers.
