Joseph A. Grabowski, 89, Thorp, WI, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI.
Joe was born October 25, 1909 in the Township of Thorp, Rural
Stanley, WI to Joseph and Mary (Rosinski) Grabowski. He married
Stella Lato, July 1, 1929 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Rural
Thorp, WI. They farmed in the Town of Worden from 1929 to 1943,
then farmed in the Town of Reseburg, Rural Thorp until 1973, when
he moved to Stanley, WI. He resided in Stanley until the spring of
1998 when he became a resident of Morgan Plaza in Thorp. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus, Emer-Quinn Council 3249,
Stanley, WI.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 3, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at
St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp, WI with Rev.
John Puerner officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig's Cemetery,
Thorp. Grandchildren served as pallbearers. Visitation was at the
Thorp Funeral Home, Friday with a 7:30 p.m. Parish K of C
Rosary.
Surviving are three sons: Joseph (Ann) of Thorp, Larry (Diane) of
Chicago, IL and Steve (Michelle) of Coon Valley, WI six daughters:
Mary (Walter) Krzyzanowski of Thorp, Amy (Joseph) Janowski of
Palatine, IL, Dorothy (Paul) Komis of Marshfield, Sister Rose
Grabowski of Fond du Lac, WI, Stella (Jack) Bushell of Chicago, IL
and Patricia Grabowski of Addison, IL 25 Grandchildren and 52
Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife
Stella Grabowski June 8, 1989, 1 daughter Theresa in infancy 1
brother John and 2 sisters: Victoria and Mary.
