 RITES HELD FOR MRS. OLGA PAKIZ


Mrs. Olga Pakiz passed away at the Neillsville Memorial Home on Monday, April 5, 1976. She was 85 years of age. Funeral services were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church, April 8, at Willard at 10:30 a.m.


Reverend Augustine Svete officiated, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The former Olga Tiran was born at Ljubljana, Yugoslavia on July 20, 1890. She was educated in Yugoslavia, coming to America in 1914. She worked in a millenary shop in New York. She moved to Willard, Clark County and was married to Vladamir Pakiz Sept. 18, 1918, at Neillsville. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Hendren for 44 years.


Mr. Pakiz died in Aug. 1963. Mrs. Pakiz moved to Route 1, Greenwood in 1963.


She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


She is survived by the following children: two sons, Frank, Route 1, Greenwood, and Gilbert, Reisterstown, Maryland and one daughter, Mrs. George (Marie) Kuznacic, Sheboygan. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Pakiz, Olga (20 July 1890 – 12 April 1976)

Mrs. Olga Pakiz, 85, Greenwood, died Monday morning at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Mrs. Pakiz, the former Olga Tiran, was born July 20, 1890 in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, where she received her education. In 1914, she came to the United States and worked in a millinery shop in New York before coming to Willard.

She was married September 7, 1918, to Vladimir Pakiz in Neillsville. He died in August 1963.

After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Hendren. She moved to Rt. 1 Greenwood, in 1963.

Mrs. Pakiz was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard.

Surviving are two sons, Gilbert of Reisterstown, Md.; and Frank Pakiz of Rt. 1 Greenwood; a daughter, Mrs. George (Marie) Kuznacie, of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. last Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Augustine Svete officiated. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph Bayuk, William Bayuk, Roland Hintz, John Scharenbrock, Joseph Hoeser and John Zagozen.
