Greenwood - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Immanuel United Church of Christ for Mrs. Rose Haase, 80, who died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 31, 1962, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Franz, after being in ill health a number of years. The Rev. Orville Egbert will officiate and burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in Braun Settlement.
The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home from Tuesday
afternoon until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and then at the church.
The former Rose Kessler was born Feb. 14, 1882 in Advance, Mich.,
and at age four, she moved with her parents to Chicago, where she
received her education. She was married on Sept. 5, 1903 in Chicago
to Herman Haase, who died Oct. 4, 1932.
In 1915 they moved to Greenwood, Clark County, and operated a farm
northwest of here until his death. In 1941 she moved to Chicago and
lived with her sister, Miss M. R. Kessler, and in 1953 she returned
to Greenwood and lived with her daughter, Mrs. Franz.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Rose) Horn and Mrs.
Albert (Doris) Franz, Greenwood two grandsons, two
great-granddaughters and three sister, Mrs. August (Elizabeth)
Schmidt, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Kraemer and Miss M. R. Kessler, All of
Chicago.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sister, a
brother and a granddaughter.
