OBITUARY OF FRANK
HAFNER
Frank Hafner was born in Wurtenberg, Germany, in the year 1850. He immigrated to America in 1867 and settled down at Weyauwega, Wis., where he lived one year and then crossed country with a pair of oxen to LaCresent, Minn. Here he stayed two years when he again crossed country back to Weyauwega. Here he started work for the Soo Line, formerly Wisconsin Central, and helped build the road through Marshfield. In the year 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Sleger Of Wolf River, Wis. They settled on a farm near Weyauwega where they lived until 1892 when they moved onto a farm near Humbird, this county (Clark). In the fall of 1918 they quit farming and moved to Greenwood, where deceased passed away Feb. 14th, 1921.
He leaves to mourn him, his aged wife, and adopted son, Frank and
wife, and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held from the Catholic Church last Friday
forenoon, Rev. Achtlich officiating. Interment was made in the
Catholic Cemetery.
