Neoma L. Hammitt, 91, died September 22, 1999 at the Sun Health Hospice Center in Sun City, AZ. She was formerly from Thorp, WI and later Holcombe, WI.
Neoma was born in Omro, WI and married Glen D. Hammitt on February
18, 1933. She was a graduate of Oshkosh Teachers College and was a
grade school art teacher until starting a family, at which time she
became a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She actively pursued her love of art, gardening and nature. She
enjoyed frequent contact with her many friends.
She is survived by a son, James P. Hammitt of Eau Claire two
grandsons: Matthew of Burnsville, MN and James Jr. of Missoula, MT
and six great-grandchildren. Also, a brother, Oliver Porter of
Wilsonville, OR.
Private services are planned at a later date in McLean, IL. She
will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
