OBITUARY OF TOLLEF T. HAMRE
Tollef T. Hamre was born June 22, 1844 in
Milwaukee, Wis., and died Jan. 31, 1930 in Racine, Wis. He reached
the age of 85 years, 7 months and 11 days.
He was married to Anna T. Tyvand, who preceded him in death eleven
years ago. Their only son, George, died a short time before his
mother.
He has been a faithful husband and father and a kind neighbor and
friend to all who knew him. He will long be remembered.
Those who will mourn his loss are his five daughters, Emma, Mrs.
Joe Dyre, Lida, Mrs. Edgar Dyre, Ida, Mrs. Harry Lehnert, Miss
Laura Hamre and three grandchildren, Fredrich, Genevieve and
Joice.
He lived a peaceful life and passed away in peace in the arms of
Jesus his Savior, whom he loved.
A short service was held at the Hanson funeral parlor in Racine
before they left by Rev. Genzler. The body was shipped to
Greenwood, Clark County, where services were conducted Feb. 3, by
Rev. M. K. Aaberg and Rev. A. B. Dyre at the Lutheran Church, of
which he had been a member. Interment took place in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Those from away who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Dyre and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herry Lehnert and son and Miss Laura
Hamre. A daughter, Mrs. Edgar Dyre being in the hospital at
Racine.
