James HAYDEN, 1862 - 1942


West Fremont
--Funeral rites were conducted this afternoon for James HAYDEN, 79, who suffered a stroke last Monday evening and who died Friday afternoon at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley HAYDEN.


Services were held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, followed by another service at Immanuel Evangelical church, Chili.


Mr. HAYDEN was born July 29, 1862, at Exeter, near Albany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert HAYDEN. Before coming to Clark county where he had been a resident in the Town of Fremont for the past six years, Mr. HAYDEN and his family had resided in Wood county. He was married March 3, 1885 in Green county to Anna Augusta SMITH, who died November 7, 1941.


Surviving are two sons, Wesley of Chili and Harry of Austin, Minnesota two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Byrdie) CURTIS, Bay City Texas, and Mrs. Lee (Katie) Neuenswander, Marion Iowa 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
