HATTIE HEGENBARTH
 

Hattie Hegenbarth, 90, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1992 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1992, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Richard Sorenson officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Harold Nielsen, Dennis Sorenson, Keith Sorenson, Tim Sorenson, Randy Karlen, and Terry Karlen.


Hattie Thompson was born May 5, 1902, in Rushford, Minn., to Ole and Anne (nee Nordrum) Thompson. She received her education at Cashton rural schools. She married Henry Hanson in 1919. He preceded her in death in 1919. She married Edwin Hegenbarth Feb. 28, 1921, in Cashton. He preceded her in death July 7, 1963. They farmed in Monroe County until moving to Greenwood in 1930. They then farmed in the town of Eaton. They moved to Greenwood in 1951. She worked at the Greenwood Bakery and Dairy Bar. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and a past president of the Ladies Circle.


Survivors include four Daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Esther) Nielsen, Oregon, Wis. Mrs. Donald (Minerva) Sorenson, Wautoma Mrs. Ronald (Leona) Tieman, Greenwood and Mrs. Marvin (Catherine) Karlen, Eau Claire two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Running and Mrs. Helen Endicott, both of Viroqua nine grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, four sisters, three brothers, and two daughters, Alice Hanson and Hazel Hegenbarth.
