OBITUARY OF NELLIE MATILDA HOGUE

Nellie Matilda (Potter) Hogue was born in Union township, Rock County, Wisconsin, April 4, 1847, and passed away at her home, 771 E. Belmont St., Portland, Oregon, July 11, 1930, at 10:15 A. M. at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 7 days. On April 20, 1868 she was united in marriage to Chas. P. Hogue at Sparta, Wis. To this union nine children were born, all who survive her. They are Harry E. and William Hogue of Greenwood, Wis., Mrs. Pearl Simerson of Medford, Wis., Mrs. Stella O'Connor of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Ray E. Hogue of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Mrs. Nellie Buhite, Mrs. Ethel Tripp, Miss Dellamae Hogue and Oscar F. Hogue all of Portland, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and an only brother, D. W. Potter of Spokane, Wash.

The funeral was held from the funeral chapel of Edward Holman and son, July 15, at 2:30 P. M., the Rev. W. E. Kloster, formerly of Greenwood, Wis., officiating. The services and flowers were beautiful and she was laid to rest in Rose City cemetery in the midst of a host of relatives and friends who mourn the loss of one who was loved by all who knew her, but our loss is her eternal gain.

She has gone to yonder city, to abide forever more, to that land of fadeless beauty. She has reached the soul's bright home. We shall meet in that bright mansion where sad partings come no more. Oh, how sweet t'will be to meet her on that happy golden shore.
