Albert W. Holt
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM Monday at United Methodist Church, Neillsville, for Albert W. Holt, 71, 1101 Hewett St., who died at Memorial Hospital at 6:15 AM Friday.
The Rev. William Noble will officiate and burial will take place in
Neillsville Cemetery.
Friends may call at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home from 3-9 PM Sunday
and until noon Monday, when the body will be taken to the
church.
Masonic services will be at 7:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Albert W. Holt was born April 11, 1905, in the Town of Weston and
attended Forman School. He worked as a milk hauler for a few years
and then was employed for 32 years by American Stores Dairy. He
also had been employed for eight years by Mashfield Homes, retiring
in 1972. Death followed a lingering illness.
Mr. Holt was a member of United Methodist Church the Neillsville
Masonic Lodge No. 163, Free and Accepted Masons, of which he was a
past master Chapter No. 66 Royal Arch Masons, and was past high
priest Commandery No. 36, Knights scholar, and was past commander,
area council No. 39, Royal and Select rulers of Marshfield, of
which he was past thrice illustrious master. (The obituary I was
using was unreadable for a couple of lines at this point)
He was married June 19, 1929 at Neillsville to Fern Olson, who
survives him.
Other Survivors include five daughters Mrs. Louis (Barbara)
Henchen, Neillsville Mrs. Jerry (Mary Ellen) Johnson, Neillsville
Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Zager, Sauk Rapids, Minn. Mrs. Eddie (Nancy)
Tresemer, Neillsville and Mrs. William (Kathryn) Kent, Winona,
Minn. a son, William O. Holt, Rice Lake, and 17 grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.

Holt, Albert W. (11 April 1905 – 6 August 1976)
A retired Town of Weston native active in the field of Freemasonry for many
years, Albert W. Holt, 71, of Neillsville, died Friday, August 6, following a
lingering illness. Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Holt was in state and funeral
services were held Monday afternoon from the United Methodist Church with the
Rev. William Noble officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Albert Holt, the son of William and Ethel Forman Holt, was born April 11, 1905,
in the Town of Weston and attended the Forman School. After completing his
formal education, he was a milk hauler for a few years. Mr. Holt was employed by
the American Stores Dairy Company of Neillsville for 32 years and then worked
for Marshfield Homes for eight years. He retired in 1972.
His marriage to the former Fern Olson took place June 19, 1929, in Neillsville.
Mr. Holt was a member of the United Methodist Church; of Blue Lodge, No. 163
F&AM (past master); Chapter No. 66 (past high priest); Knights Templar,
Commandery No. 36 (commander); Council No. 39, R&SM (past thrise illustrious
master); the Eau Claire Consistory; KYCH; Order of the Eastern Star, Carmi
Chapter No. 60 (past patron); and Scottish Rite Club at Marshfield.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six children, Mrs. Louis (Barbara)
Henchen and Mrs. Jerry (Mary Ellen) Johnson of Neillsville, Mrs. Robert
(Shirley) Zager of Sauk Rapids, Mn., Mrs. Eddie (Nancy) Tresemer of Neillsville,
William O. Holt of Rice Lake and Mrs. William (Kathryn) Kent of Winona, Mn., and
17 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Earl Bruhn, W. H. Allen, Kenneth Sherren, Thad Zajac, Harold
Trewartha and Art Drescher. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Alfred Kleckner,
Dale Seif, Richard Albrecht, Ed Heller, Ivo Haines and Joe Zimmerman.
The Rev. Gary Clark sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” Mrs.
Iris Musil was the accompanist.
