NORMAN HORN


Norman Henry Horn, 75, Greenwood, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Private funeral services were held on Friday, May 9, 1997, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Clark County. Nephews served as pallbearers.


Norman Henry Horn was born on Dec. 23, 1921 in Greenwood, to Gustave and Anna (nee Woepse) Horn. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1941. He drove truck for Plautz Bros. And worked at Western Condensery in Owen. He served in the U.S. Army overseas in Japan during World War II. Upon returning, he continued working for Plautz Bros. until his marriage. He married Betty Richmond on Sept. 3, 1949, at Immanuel United Church of Christ. She survives. They moved to Wausau and worked for American Can/James River Corp., until retiring in 1983. They then moved back to Greenwood and resided there until his death. He enjoyed helping on his brother and nephew's farm and also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.


Survivors include his wife one brother, Herbert (Lila) Horn, Greenwood one sister, Almira (Edgar) Stanke, Rice Lake nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
