Walter Hryniewicki, 84, Sarasota, FL, former resident of Thorp, died on Sunday, February 21, 1999.
Walter Hryniewicki, son of the late Edward and Julia Hryniewicki
was born in Thorp, WI on March 20, 1914. He graduated from Coyne
Electrical School in Chicago. He was an Army veteran of World War
II. He and his wife ran an appliance store in Thorp until 1957. In
1957 they moved to DeForest, WI and he was employed by the State of
Wisconsin as a communication technician and field engineer later
moving to Chippewa Falls, then Jim Falls, WI. After retiring in
1976 he spent his winters in Sarasota and summers at Jim Falls.
Walter was an Amateur Radio Operator, pilot active with the Civil
Air Patrol Chippewa Falls Squadron and member of the American
Legion in Thorp, WI.
Surviving is his wife Irene (Kaszubowski) a daughter, Judy and
husband Aaron Mattes a son Walter E. Hryniewicki and wife Suze
(Hartman) four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was
preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Henry and
Eddie.
Funeral services were held at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home at
Sarasota, FL and burial at Sarasota Memorial Park.
