Geo. W. Hubbell

Last week's Neillsville papers gave an interesting account of Geo. W. Hubbell, whose death occurred Sunday, Aug. 3 at the home of his son Fred in Fifield, at the age of 73 years. The funeral was held in Neillsville under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, the G.A.R. attending. Mr. Hubbell was a Greenwood resident for many years and was well known by the older residents. He distinguished himself dueling in the civil war and earned an enviable record and held the title of major. He leaves a wife and three children.

George W. Hubbell is also featured in the book, "Civil War Soldiers in the heart of Clark Co., Wisconsin."
