Bolf, Theresa (11 May 1954 – 17 May 1976)
Funeral services were being held this week in Greenwood for three area residents
who were injured fatally in a collision between two cars on Highway 13, just
north of Marshfield, about 7 p.m. Sunday.
Marathon County authorities reported that the car driven by Mrs. Bolf went out
of control on the rain-slicked highway and skidded cross-wise of the pavement in
front of the Roberts car. They attributed the accident to the slick condition of
the highway surface and high speed. A motorist saw the Bolf car shortly before
the accident, the officers reported, and estimated the speed of the car at from
80 to 90 miles per hour.
Roberts who was instantly killed, was pinned inside his car until firemen from
Marshfield were able to cut his door open.
Roberts, his wife and step-son had left a Marshfield supper club but moments
before the accident. They had dined there with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson and
Mr. and Mrs. Arden Hinkelmann, of Neillsville, after attending an art showing of
Mrs. Thompson’s works in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Rinka Funeral Home in
Greenwood for Mrs. Theresa Bolf, 22, who died of head injuries in a Marshfield
hospital at 9:13 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Robert Houston, pastor of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Greenwood, was to be in charge. Burial was to be made in St.
Mary’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Bolf, whose address was Marshfield, had recently moved to that city from
Greenwood, and had been employed at a root beer stand there.
She was born May 11, 1954, in Marshfield, to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sloniker. She
attended Greenwood schools, and was married April 21, 1971, to Denni Bolf. She
worked at the Stewart Cheese Factory in Greenwood for five years and had just
recently moved to Marshfield.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Heather, her mother, Mrs. Lyle
(Bonnie) Hardrath of Marshfield, her father, Ed Sloniker of Greenwood, three
sisters Laura Sloniker, Mrs. Dan (Kathy) Bowman and Peggy Sloniker, all of

Double services were to be held today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. from the Rinka
Funeral Home for Gordon Roberts, 56, of Greenwood, and his step-son, Michael A.
Kotcon, 24, of Willard. Kotcon died in the Marshfield hospital about 10:30 p.m.
