OBITUARY OF MRS. CHAS. JOHNSON

Mary Josephine Johnson died at her home 3 miles northeast of Greenwood, Clark County at 2:30 o'clock Monday morning, Aug. 1, 1932. The cause of her death was apoplexy.

Her sudden death came as a shock to her relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 7, 1872 at Dubuque, Iowa, making her 59 years, 7 months and 25 days old. Her first husband was Charles Larson, who preceded her in death thirty three years ago. By this marriage she had five children, Richard E. Larson of Greenwood, Mrs. Chas. Hanson of Silvis, Ill., Henry Larson of Cedar Creek, Nebr., Albert L. Larson of Silvis, Ill., and Carl who preceded her in death. She also had six step-daughters and one step-son living in California, Nebraska and Indiana. She was united in marriage to Chas. Johnson July 3, 1907 in Omaha, Nebraska. Besides these to mourn her death are three brothers and fifteen grandchildren.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. T. Pettengell of Waukesha, out of doors among the trees and flowers, which she helped to plant and care for. The remains were laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

She will be greatly missed among her friends and neighbors who have known her in the fifteen years of her life spent in this community. Mrs. Johnson was converted in June 1927, confessing and forsaking her sins and accepting Jesus as her personal Savior. It made that beautiful change in her life and prepared her for her home above.

The out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hanson and family and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Larson and family, all of Silvis, Ill.
