Alice L. Karsten (1913 - 1999)
Alice L. Karsten, 86, of Abbotsford, died
Wednesday, May 12, at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford
where she had resided since August 1997. Funeral services were held
Monday, May 17, at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford with Rev.
Paul C. Hunsicker officiating.
Burial was held in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Leonard and Mike Schindler, Tim Matson, and Ryan, Brandon and Sean
Karsten.
Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford was in charge of the
arrangements.
The former Alice L. Staffeil was born February 11, 1913, in Colby
to the late William and Emma (Dins) Staffeil. She graduated from
Colby High School and then attended Stevens Point Normal School.
Her marriage to Harry Karsten took place on January 15, 1940, in
Iowa. He died on June 4, 1975.
She and her husband farmed in the Town of Colby, rural Curtiss,
until retiring. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children, Jean Miller and Ronald (Susan)
Karsten, both of Curtiss three sisters, Laura Schmidt, Aurilla
Bowen and Leona (William) Koffarnus, all of Colby four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Staffeil.
