Jacob Langreck to be buried this Thursday
Jacob Langreck, 83, passed away after a
lingering illness, Monday, January 1.
Langreck, 213 east Sixth St., Neillsville, was a resident of the
Neillsville Memorial Home at the time of his death.
Funeral services were slated for this Thursday, January 4, from St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Joseph Henseler
officiating. Burial was to be in the parish cemetery with the
Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Langreck was born on October 11, 1895 in St. Lucas, Iowa, to John
and Mary (Meiner) Langreck. After receiving his education in Iowa,
he moved with his parents to the Neillsville area and farmed with
them in the Town of Grant until he purchased his own farm in that
township. On January 8, 1924, he married Veronica E. Ziblinski in
Neillsville ceremonies.
After the marriage, the couple continued farming and he worked as a
carpenter, retiring in 1975 and moving to Neillsville.
Surviving besides his wife is one son, Delbert Langreck,
Neillsville two daughters, Mrs. John (Joyce) Zinthefer of
Marshfield and Mrs. Dale (Joan) Fitzmaurice of Janesville three
sisters, Mrs. Henry (Agnes) Aumann of Loyal and Mrs. Max (Theresa)
Statz and Mrs. Ray (Rose) Noll, both of Neillsville two brothers,
John H. of St. Lucas, Iowa, and Ferdinand of Greenwood fifteen
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Preceding him in death were three brothers.

Langreck, Jacob (11 October 1895 – 1 January 1979)
Funeral services were held for Jacob Langreck, 83, on January 4, from St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, Neillsville, with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. After
the morning rites, burial was made in the parish cemetery, with the Gesche
Funeral Home, Neillsville, in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bernard and Bruce Langreck, Duane Zinthefer and Randy, Michael
and Timothy Fitzmaurice. Music was offered by St. Mary’s Choir, accompanied by
Mrs. Glenn Short.
Those attending the services from out of town were John H. Langreck and Mr. and
Mrs. Ambrose Buchhert, of West Union, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Langreck,
Cresco, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Langreck, St. Lucas, Iowa; and also, friends
and relatives from Loyal, Greenwood, Humbird, Marshfield, Cadott, Mercer,
Janesville, Wisconsin Rapids and Neillsville.
