Lencz, Michael (1912 - 1999)
Michael Lencz, 87, Stanley, WI died Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 1999, 10:30 a.m. at
Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, Lublin, WI. Burial was in Holy
Assumption Cemetery, Lublin with Military Rites conducted by Lublin
American Legion. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at
Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.
Mike was born May 31, 1912 to Steve and Mary (Paraschak) Lencz. He
grew up in the Lublin area and served in the US Army during World
War II. He served in the Philippines. Mike returned to Lublin, WI
and operated a hardware store with his wife Alice for many years.
They retired and moved to Stanley, WI and also spent the winter
months in Florida. Mike's wife Alice died in 1984 and Mike has
lived in Stanley since. Mike loved to hunt, fish and travel.
Surviving are three brothers: Harry (Pauline) Lencz of Owen, WI,
Frank (Mary) Lencz of Gilman, WI, John (Tonie) Lencz of Stanley, WI
one sister Ella, Mrs. Walter Welgos of Thorp, WI one stepson Dale
Hokkanen of Milwaukee, WI, one stepdaughter Annette, Mrs. Jim
Sanderson of St. Louis, MO several step grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife
Alice, brother Dan and sister Theodoia Burzynski.
