LePage, Edward (1914 - 1999)
Edward Eddie Francis Le Page, 84, died on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, 1:30 p.m., at his home in Withee.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 9, 1999, 10:30 a.m,
at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, with Reverend Father Al
Jakubowski officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons: Scott Maurina, Chris
Maurina, Jeff Sulzbach, Chad Sulzbach, Mike Telford, Joel Telford,
Rick Le Page and Nathan Le Page. Organist was Mary Gelhaus,
Soloist, Helen Schultz accompanied by the Holy Rosary Choir.
Visitation was at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen on Friday,
january 8, 1999, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at
7:30 p.m.
Eddie Le Page was born on June 8, 1914 in Blueberry in Douglas
County, the son of Albert Jack and Alice Mable (Valade) Le Page. On
July 24, 1935, Eddie and the former Delia Yates were united in
marriage at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford. From 1933
to 1938, Eddie was employed with Mauel's Dairy in Owen. They moved
to Superior in 1938 where he was employed as a riveter in the
shipyards until 1946. The family then returned to reside in the
Owen-Withee area in 1946 and farmed until 1951. He then was
employed at Western Condensing Company, later Foremost Foods as a
truck driver, retiring in 1976. Eddie enjoyed hunting and fishing,
camping at Little Tee Pee Campgrounds at Lake Holcombe, playing
cards and Yahtzee.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years Delia Le Page of
Withee two sons: Jerome (Sheila) Le Page of Withee, Arthur Snooky
(Betty) Le Page of Withee three daughters: Barbara (James) Maurina
of Dorchester, Diane (Michael Glynn) Le Page of Shoreview, MN,
Nancy (William) Telford of Wausau one sister, Ardelle (Bernard)
Auberg of Withee, 1 sister-in-law, Betty Le Page of Owen 14
grandchildren: Michelle (Joel) Hopperdietzel, Scott (linda)
Maurina, Julie (Bill) Brunker, Chris (Shannon) Maurina, Nathan Le
Page, Rich (Bru) Le Page, Lori (Mark) Dawson, Lisa, Jeff and Chad
Sulzbach, Michael (Pam) Telford, Joel (Sue) Telford, Beth and Julie
Telford 13 Great-grandchildren: Tasha and Joshua Le Page, Jenna and
Morgan Hopperdietzel, Trenton Brunker, Luca Maurina, Lucas Maurina,
Brandon, Shane, Keith, Luke, Raeann Dawson, Allison and Travis
Telford. He was preceded in death by his parents 4 brothers:
Archie, Clarence, Raymond, Nick and half brother Charles Pethers 5
sisters: ida Stein, Agnes Dalbec, Laura, May and Edith.
