MRS. MATHEW LINDNER


Greenwood--Funeral rites for Mrs. Mathew Lindner will be held here Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Hartung will officiate and interment will follow in the parish cemetery.


Mrs. Lindner, who was 66 years old and had been in poor health for several years due to a heart ailment, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 1956 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. She had been a patient there for 10 days.


The body now lies in state at the funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 8 o'clock this evening by members of St. Ann's Society, of which she was a member. The general rosary will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.


Born March 17, 1890, at Mineral Point, the former Gertrude Scherer came to this area two years before her marriage. Since then she and her husband had been residing on the Lindner homestead 3 1/2 miles east of here.


Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Genevieve) Budziz, Hillsdale, Ill., Loretta, at home, and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Esselmann, Greenwood four sons, Frank, Loyal, Lawrence and James, at home, and Bernard, Hales Corners two brothers, George, Loyal, and Mathew, Chicago and one sister, Mrs. Albert Larson, Hillsdale, Ill. Two brothers, Peter and Nicholas, are deceased.
