OBITUARY OF MATH LINDNER, SR.
Math Lindner, Sr. who has been a resident of
this vicinity for the past thirteen years, died on Thursday June 2,
1921 at the age of 54 years, 7 months and 25 days. He had been in
ill health but a few days. The cause of his death was inflammatory
rheumatism.
Mr. Lindner was born in Bavaria, Germany, Oct. 7, 1866. He came to
this country 34 years ago and made his home at Millstone, Jackson
County, Wis., where in 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna
Schober. Thirteen years ago the family moved to their present home
southeast of the city (Greenwood, Clark County), where he died last
Thursday.
Deceased was the father of ten children, who with their mother
survive him. They are: Math. Jr. May Kathrine Andrew Thresa John
Casper Anton Erhardt and Anna. All the children were at home at the
time of his death but Thresa, who lives at West Bend, Iowa.
Mr. Lindner was a member of the Catholic Church and also a member
of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
He was an honest industrious man of good ability and one who did
his best in meeting the responsibilities which developed upon him.
He was companionable by nature and loyal in his friendships. He was
well known among the residents of this city and county and held in
favorable regard by the many good friends, who extend their
sympathy to his bereaved widow and children.
The funeral services were held on Monday forenoon at 10 o'clock
from the Catholic Church, Rev. Father Achtlick officiating.
Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
Among those who came here to attend his funeral were Ed Greiner and
family and H. Bushman and family of Marshfield and Joe Schober and
son of Tunnel City.
