Lindquist, Arthur (1916 - 1999)

 

Arthur J. Lindquist, 83, Waukegan, IL, formerly of the Owen-Withee area, died at his residence on Tuesday, July 27, 1999.


Funeral services for Mr. Lindquist will be on Friday, July 30, 1999, 1:00 p.m. at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, with Rev. Ralph Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.


Family will meet with relatives and friends on Friday at the Maurina Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.


Mr. Lindquist moved to Waukegan in the late 1930's. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre in special forces. After the war, Mr. Lindquist owned and operated Thrifty Welding (Thrifty Artcraft Welding Service) and Ornamental Iron Railings until retirement in 1981. He was an avid amateur golfter. He was a member of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church of Kenosha, WI.


He is survived by one sister, Esther Harjie of Waukegan two nephews: Kenneth Luke of Fridley, MN, Kenneth Lindquist of Waukegan: one niece Sandra Lindquist of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents sisters: Jenny, Linda, Effie, Anne Lindquist and Emole Luke 3 brothers: Jalmer, Anton and Tony Lindquist and 1 nephew Mel Luke.
