SIGNA P. LODAHL (1911 - 2000)
Signa P. LODAHL, 88, a long-time Stanley resident, passed
away on January 16, 2000, at Oakbrook Manor in Thorp.
Signa was born on May 1, 1911, the daughter of Peder C. and Sophia
J. (RAND) SIME in Ferryville. The Simes moved to the rural Cornell
area when Signa was a young child.
She married Henry C.T. (Tully) LODAHL on August 7, 1929. They
resided in rural Cornell until 1944 when they moved to Stanley.
Signa was a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for
nearly 70 years and also belonged to the Ladies Aide and Quilting
Club of that congregation.
Signa is survived by one son, Kenneth (Evelyn) LODAHL of Hudson
three daughters, Gloria (William) SCHWETZ of Cadott, Shirley
(Wayne) WATSON of Hudson, and Lois (Duane, "Bear") MEYER of Boyd 26
grandchildren 56 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews,
by whom she was dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Peder and Sophia SIME her
husband, "Tully" four children in infancy one stepson, Arden LODAHL
one sister, Inga, in childhood two brothers, George (and his wife,
Arla) and Marvin and one granddaughter, Rondi LODAHL GILLITZER.
Signa will be sadly missed but more so remembered for her hard
work, her sacrifices for her family, her kind and loving heart, her
wonderful wit, and her smile for everyone she met.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, January 20, at Our Savior's
Lutheran Church. The visitation was Wednesday at Plombon Funeral
Home in Stanley. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her
nephews, Arthur, Ronald, Charles, Robert, Larry, Michael, Russell,
and Patrick SIME. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Plombon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
