ASA LELAND SHEETS DIES AT NEILLSVILLE


Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 22, at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, for Asa Leland Sheets, 82, a former Greenwood, Clark County resident.


Reverend David Logue of Zion United Church of Christ officiated, and Mrs. Gary Schultz was the soloist and organist. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Asa Leland Sheets passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 1976, at the Neillsville Memorial Home.


Asa Leland Sheets was born to Asa Joseph and Nancy Sheets on Jan. 14, 1894, at Columbus Grove, Ohio. He was never married, and came to Greenwood at an early age. He farmed in the Greenwood area all his life and has lived at Bryan's Home for the aged for the past eleven years. In Sept. 1975, he entered Memorial Home in Neillsville.


He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.


Surviving him are numerous nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Neil Sheets, Henry Dunow, William Dunow, John Sheets, Norman Olson and Ralph Ystad. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Sheets, Asa Leland (14 January 1894 – 20 July 1976)

Asa Leland Sheets, 82, a former Greenwood resident, died July 20 at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Mr. Sheets was born January 14, 1894, in Columbus Grove, Oh. He came to Greenwood at an early age and farmed here all his life. The last 11 years he had resided at the Bryan’s Home for the Aged in Neillsville and since September 1975, he had lived at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. last Thursday from the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. David Logue, pastor of the Zion United Church officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Henry and William Dunow, John and Neil Sheets and Ralph Ystad.

The vocalist, Gary Schultz, was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Gary Schultz.
