Luce, Isaac (1825 - 1903)

 

Isaac Luce, the aged father of Mrs. Fred Cota and Frank Luce, died early Sunday morning at the home of his daughter southwest of Greenwood, Bright's disease being the cause. The remains were taken Tuesday morning to Oshkosh and interred at Eureka, Winnebago County, the old home of the family. Mrs. Cota accompanied the body to the last resting place. Her brother, Frank Luce, went down the day before.

OBITUARY MENTION


Isaac Luce, who died Sunday morning, August 9, was born in Wayne county, NY in 1825. In 1847 he was married, his wife dying several years ago. He was the father of three children only two of whom survive, these being Frank Luce and Mrs. Fred Cota, with whom he made his home for the past seven years since they cam to Greenwood.


Deceased had been a sufferer for several years from Bright's disease which was the cause of his demise. A funeral service was held from the home of his daughter Monday afternoon, August 10, Rev. J. T. Hutton officiating. A large attendance of friends and neighbors was present and brought in a goodly display of floral tributes.


The remains were taken Tuesday morning to Oshkosh for interment near the old family home.
