OBITUARY OF OSCAR MACKNICK


Oscar Macknick was born at Fairchild, Wis., Jan. 6, 1876 and at the time of his death he was 52 years, 2 months and 24 days old.


Thirty years ago he was united in marriage at Fairchild to Miss Christina Dalkie. Five children were born to this union, of which one, a son, preceded him in death. The family moved to Greenwood, Clark County fifteen years ago and have resided here since. Will here Mr. Macknick was employed as section foreman for the F. N.E. railway for many years and also worked at the local box factory. About a year ago he went to Chippewa Falls and worked for the Northern States Power Co. From there he went to Minneapolis, where he died at the General Hospital, March 31, 1928, the cause of his death being pneumonia. Deceased was a member of the local F.R.A. Lodge.


He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Thos. Syth of Sidney, Mont., Mrs. Frank Murphy of Christie, two sons, Lloyd and Ralph at home. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 1 brother and 3 sisters, besides many friends.


Funeral services were held from the local Catholic Church Tuesday morning, April 3, Rev. S.P. Frye officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
