OBITUARY OF MRS. SARAH E. MCCONNELL
Mrs. Sarah E. McConnell was born in Ontario, Canada in 1846. She
was united in Marriage there to Geo. McConnell in 1866. They came
to the United States and resided in the east until 1877 when they
came to Greenwood, Clark County where she lived until her death,
Friday June 4th, 1926.
Her husband, three sons, on brother and four sisters preceded her
in death. She leaves to mourn her death one brother in Canada and
three daughters and three sons. The children are George, James,
Robert and Mrs. Elizabeth Christie, who live in the vicinity of
Greenwood, Mrs. Farning of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Fred Brown of
Glen Flora, Wis. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the local M.E. Church Monday
afternoon. The Rev. T. O. Thompson preached on a text chosen by
Mrs. McConnell, Prov. 12, 28: In the way of Righteousness, is Life
and in the Pathway thereof this is no Death.
The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Deceased was a kind and loving wife and mother and a friend to all
who knew her. Her sudden departure will be a great loss to her
relatives and friends.
