Francis A. Mead died at is home at McMinnville, Ore., Tuesday, Jan. 27th, 1920 after a brief illness. He was agent for the American Express Company at that place. He was born in Watertown, Wis, fifty seven years ago. After going to McMinnville he became major of military reserve corps. He was an active member of the B.P.O.E. and the Knights of Pythias and the Spanish-American war veterans. He also held membership in other fraternal organizations. Funeral services were held Jan. 29th.
Francis A. Mead was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Mead, some
of the oldest settlers in the northern part of Clark County, having
come here in 1865. He was a nephew to Mr. and Mrs. J.A. McCarty on
route four and Wm. Mead at Thorp.
