Lester David Meeker, 57, of Milwaukee, WI, died Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at the V.A. Nursing home of cancer.
Lester was born January 9, 1942 to Cecil and Edna (Kroeplin) Meeker
at their home in the Town of Taft.
Lester graduated from Stanley High School and shortly after went
into the Army for 2 years, spending 8 months in Viet Nam as a radio
and telephone operator and was honorably discharged in 1966.
Survivors are his wife, of 10 years, Judith nee (Mitchell) one son
David Lester (Christy) Meeker one daughter Nancy (Aaron) Peach 3
granddaughters: LeeAnna, Kylie Meeker, Eleanor Peach of Saulk
Village, IL stepchildren: Michelle (Shawn) Tyczkowski, Julie Davis
Meeker, Ronny McDaniels and Blaine McAlister four sisters: Waneta
Gwiazda of Chippewa Falls, Rose (Charles) Katrba of Stanley, Judith
(Micheal) Gwiazda of Thorp, Sharon (Tony) Lange of Cornell three
brothers: Marvin (Betty) Meeker of Colorado, George (Ethel) Meeker,
Chester (Sandra) Meeker, both of Stanley. Lester was preceded in
death by his parents, Cecil in 1979 and Edna in 1990 of
Stanley.
Visitation and funeral services were held, Friday, September 17,
1999 in the Forest Home Chapel, Milwaukee and burial was in Forest
Home Cemetery with military graveside rites.
***Note from
a family member: There are a few errors in both of my children's
names. My oldest is LeeAnna, not LeAnna and my other is Kylie, not
Kyland, at the time of Lester's death I was pregnant with my 3rd
child, her name is Regina.
