MEINHARDT FUNERAL IS HELD YESTERDAY


GREENWOOD RESIDENT IS BURIED IN BRAUN SETTLEMENT CEMETERY


Greenwood - Funeral services for Moritz G. Meinhardt, 71, who died of complications at 8:30 o'clock Friday evening, Oct. 23, 1938, at his home, 4 miles northwest of Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted yesterday afternoon.


At 2 o'clock the George Heilman conducted services at the Trinity Lutheran Church. These rites were preceded by a short service at 1:30 o'clock at the Schiller funeral home. Burial was made beside his wife in the Braun Settlement cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Rossow, Herman Damerow, George Zuehlke, William Bucksteiner, Walter Durst, and William Schlinsog.


Mr. Meinhardt, who was born in Centerville June 11, 1867, lived there until his marriage to miss Caroline Horn May 23, 1889, at Manitowoc. Mr. and Mrs. Meinhardt lived for two years on a farm in the town of Newton, 12 years in Kaukauna, and two years in Sheboygan.

 
In 1903 they came to the town of Warner, settling on the Gordee farm, purchasing it two years later. Mrs. Meinhardt died Oct. 1, 1932, and one son, Moritz Jr., also preceded him in death at the age of 3.


Surviving are one son, Norman, Greenwood one sister, Mrs. William Dressler, Bradley, Ill and three brothers, Oscar Meinhardt, Colfax Otto Meinhardt, Greenwood and August Meinhardt, Owen.


Mr. Meinhardt was the last charter member of the Trinity Lutherarn Church, which was organized in 1908.
