OBITUARY OF MRS. IDA MEINHOLDT
From the Greenwood Gleaner 12/ /1932 and from the scrapbook of Mrs.
Andrews, former librarian of The Greenwood Public Library,
Greenwood, Clark County, Wisconsin.
Ida Decker was born on December 19, 1868 in Franklin, Sheboygan
County, Wisconsin. When two years old she came with her parents,
Henry and Sophie Decker, to live in Clark County. She was confirmed
by Rev. G. Veenker on March 23, 1883.
On June 13, 1885, she was united in marriage to Theodore Meinholdt.
To this union, ten children were born. Her husband preceded her in
death on April 12, 1918.
Mrs. Meinholdt has been ailing for a number of years with diabetis
and on December 2nd, she was taken to the hospital in Chippewa
Falls. She was called to her eternal reward on Monday morning,
December 5th, reaching an age of 63 years, 11 months and 16
days.
She leaves to mourn her death, eight sons and two daughters, namely
Mrs. Olga Reineking, Arthur, Rudolph, August, Albert, Otto, Alma,
Oscar, Lewie and Edward, all of Greenwood, Wisconsin, also four
grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Franz, Mrs. Henry
Franz and Mrs. John Abel of Greenwood and four brothers, Alfred and
Arthur of Sayle, Montana and Gustav of Snohomish, Washington. Two
brothers preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn an aged uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Schwarze of Greenwood, Wisconsin, besides other relatives and a
host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the West Side Reformed Church,
Thursday afternoon and the body was laid to rest beside her husband
in the West Side Cemetery.
Those from away who attended the funeral were: Theodore Tehilen of
Superior, Mrs. Dave Pepin of Duluth, Minnesota Mr. and Mrs. John
Miller and family of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Horner of Unity
Gilbert and Hulda Stoelting of Plymouth Mrs. Anna Pierce and Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Frank of Humbird, and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Fainter
of Stanley.
