MYRTLE MABEL MELZER

Mae Myrtle Melzer, whose death was briefly mentioned last week, was buried from the St. Mary's Catholic church Saturday forenoon, the funeral being held at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. Burkard of Loyal.

Deceased was born at Brightstown, Brown county, Wis., Sept. 7, 1879, to Herman and Catherine Melzer, who with four brothers and one sister are left to mourn her untimely departure.

For the past twelve years Mae has lived with her people here in Greenwood, having lived before that at Glenwood and Bayfield after the family moved from Brown county. Here she grew to womanhood, and though never out much in society, she had many friends who appreciated her quiet ways and kindly disposition.

Though Mae had been in poor health for the past five years, her last sickness dated back only a few days before her death. She was taken to her bed Saturday before her death on Tuesday night, Oct, 24, 1905. The Thursday before she was up town as far as Arends Steffen's store doing some trading.

The remains were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery.

Those present from a distance were Henry Melzer and little son of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. and Mrs. John Fransway of Appleton, Mis Clara Mueller of Wrightstown, Mrs. and Mrs Jos. Sawyer, Chas. and Frank Sawyer and Mrs. Frank Lessig of Stratford.
