Milewski, Anton Peter (1907 - 1999)
Anton Peter Milewski, 92, Owen, died on Saturday, February 20, 1999, 12:25 p.m. at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 23, 1999, 11:00
a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen with Father Al Jakubowski
officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers
were: Scott Milewski, Steven Milewski, Martin Milewski, Randy Bonk,
Brian Bonk and William White.
Visitation was held at Holy Rosary Cthlic Church, Owen from 10:00
a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Maurina Funeral Home,
Owen assisted the family.
Anton was born in Westville, IL, the son of Julius and Veronica
(nee Kundrotas) Milewski. He received his education in the
Westville area. On June 24, 1930 he married the former Helen
Balicki at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. They were dairy
farmers in the Town of Hixon until he retired in 1972. The couple
then moved to Owen. He was a carpenter for over 20 years, working
with the Clark County Health Care Center and was a custodian for
the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, and playing
cards. He also enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years. Anton was
a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He will be sadly missed by: his son Ronald (Marilyn) Milewski of
Rock Mound, Missouri, sister, Lottie Pernice of Chicago, IL
brother, Frank Milewski of Michigan son-in-law, Harry (Toodie) Bonk
of Withee, WI 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. Anton was
preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen on February 11,
1997, his daughter Geraldine Geri Bonk on June 27, 1997, three
brothers and two sisters.
