CALVIN MILLS DEAD
Calvin Mills of Christie died very suddenly
Saturday night at his home at Christie of heart failure. The
funeral took place at Christie Tuesday forenoon and the remains
were laid at rest in the Neillsville cemetery. He was over
sixty-one and a half years of age.
He was born in Medinas, Ohio, June 6, 1843. At the age of 15 he came to Wisconsin with his grandparents, marrying Miss Charlotte Ransom in 1866 and locating then in Clark County. He was in his youth a member of the Baptist Church, but in 1889 united with the Methodist Church at Christie, of which he was always a consistent member.
Mr. Mills served in the civil war enlisting in the 6th Wisconsin volunteers at the first call for troops, and served till the close of the war.
Calvin Mills is also featured in the book, "Civil War Soldiers in the heart of Clark Co., Wisconsin."
