RONALD G. NERDRUM (1916 - 2000)


Ronald George NERDRUM, 83, of Stanley died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Victory Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1916, to Alfred and Julia (QUAMMEN) NERDRUM in the Town of Eagle Point.


Ron attended Roger Creek School and Stanley High School. On May 21, 1940, he married Marion KIRALY. They lived and farmed in the Cadott area for 13 years before returning to farm in rural Stanley.


He enjoyed logging, sawing, lumber, and constructing wood buildings. He built two barns and a shed on the farm and also built the house in which he lived until his death.


He is survived by his wife, Marion son, Ron, who runs the family farm and his daughter, Carol (John) GROVER of Westby, MT. He is also survived by his sisters, Leona MATOTT of Cadott, Bethella COSBY of Indianapolis, IN two brothers, Alfred (Rosalie) of Lansing, MI, and Robert of Kenosha plus many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents brothers, Harley and Lloyd sisters, Thelma THOMPSON, Elloraine BECKMAN, and Evelyn PETERSEN, and infant son, Gary Allen.


Services were held Tuesday, March 21, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanley, the Rev. William Stewart presiding. Pallbearers were Larry THOMPSON, Alan THOMPSON, John KIRALY, Bob KIRALY, and Jesse MATOTT. Burial was at East Side Cemetery.


Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with the arrangements.
