EUGENE NOLAN (1905 - 1990)


Eugene Nolan, 84, Greenwood, Clark County, died Friday, Feb. 9,1990, at 4:45 a.m. at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1990, at United Methodist Church, Greenwood. Rev. Ronal Stelzleni officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Johnson, John Johnson, Dean Johnson, Randy Nolan, Ardell Nolan, Robert Clintsman. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Oswald and Ernest Mains.


Eugene Nolan was born April 19, 1905, in Norwalk to Lee and Mamie (McGary) Nolan. He received his education at Cashton and Sparta. He married Verna Oswald Nov. 19, 1927, in Winona, Minn. He farmed in Monroe County until 1942. He then moved to the town of Beaver and farmed and drove truck until 1975. He also operated a pony ring at carnivals in Michigan and Minnesota. He was a member of the Horse Pullers Association.


Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Delmond (Amber) Johnson, Greenwood one son, Vernon, Wisconsin Rapids eight grandchildren 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.


Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
