Harriet Ann Nowak (1908 - 1999)

Harriet Ann Nowak, 90, Stanley, died Friday, Sept. 3 at the Victory Medical Center, Stanley. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, with Rev. Eugene Smith officiating. Burial took place at St. Mary's Czestochowa Cemetery in Stanley.

Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Harriet Cukla was born October 18, 1908 to the late Walter and Anna (Madja) Cukla. Her marriage to the late Leon Nowak, who died in 1961, took place June 30, 1926 at St. Mary's Czestochowa Church in the Town of Thorp, Clark County, WI.

The couple farmed in that area for many years. She moved to Stanley in 1962.

She is survived by one daughter, Delores (Ronald) Niemczynski of Waterford one son, Jerome (Sandra) Nowak of Muskego three brothers, Frank Cukla of Chicago, Ill., Paul Cukla and John (Wanda) Cukla, both of Thorp nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leona Valk four brothers, George, Stanley, Charles, and Peter and two sisters, Katherine and Anna.

Harriet Ann Nowak, 90, Stanley, WI, died Friday, September 3, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley.

Harriet was born October 18, 1908 to Walter and Anna (Madja) Cukla. She grew up in the Junction area and was married to Leon Nowak on June 30, 1926 at St. Mary's Czestochowa Church in the Town of Thorp. They lived and farmed in that area for many years. Leon died in 1961. In 1962 she moved to the City of Stanley and has lived there since.

Survivors include one daughter Delores, Mrs. Ronald Niemczynski of Waterford, WI son, Jerome (Sandra) Nowak of Muskego, WI 9 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren three brothers: Frank Cukla of Chicago, IL, Paul Cukla and John (Wanda) Cukla, both of Thorp, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents husband Leon in 1961; 1 daughter Leona Valk 4 brothers George, Stanley, Charles, Peter 2 sisters: Katherine and Anna.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 7, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley with Father Eugene Smith officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Czestochowa Cemetery in rural Stanley, WI. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Rosary service was at 7:30 p.m.
