Funeral services for
Chris Olsen, 86, of 111 South West Street, Loyal, were conducted at
11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.
Chris Olsen Passed away at 6:45 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16 at Colonial
Nursing Home of Colby.
Reverend Bruno Schlachtenhaufen officiated at the services and the
congregation sang, accompanied by Ronald Gluch on the organ.
Interment was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery.
Chris Olsen was born on October 24, 1891 at Hartford, Wisconsin to
Andrew and Ellen Olsen. He came to Loyal with his parents at the
age of one and received his education at a rural Unity School and
at Loyal High School.
He was married on June 20, 1917 at Greenwood to Julia Angeline
Dyre. They farmed in the Greenwood area for 11 years before moving
to the Loyal area where they farmed until 1949 when he retired and
moved to the city of Loyal.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal and was on the
church board at one time.
Surviving him are his wife, Julia five sons, Vern of West Allis,
Howard of Owen, arthur of Loyal, John of Loyal and Pastor Floyd
Olsen of Joice, Iowa one doughter, Mrs. James (Ella) Stevens of Sun
Prairie two brothers, Albert of Phoenix, Arizona and John of Loyal
18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son and one
brother.
Vern Dahlby, Calvin Johnson, Harry Johnson, Glen Sisson, Allan
Quast and Marvin Marg served as pallbearers.
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
