Penk, Mary (1915 - 1999)

 

Mary Penk, 84, Thorp, WI, died at 10:15 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hosptial, Marshfield on Monday, November 15, 1999.


Mary was born August 2, 1915 in the Town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co. to Michael and Bessie (Makohan) Pirus. She was united in marriage to John Penk May, 1937 at St. Stanislaus Church, Lublin, WI. She owned and operated The Bellinger Tavern for 45 years, retiring in 1995. She lived in the Lublin-Bellinger are all her life. She loved her card games.


She is survived by one son Jerry (Caroline) Penk of Stanley one daughter Joanne Syryczuk of Medford 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John October 29, 1988, one grandson Brian and 1 brother Andrew.


Funeral services were held Thursday, November 18, 1999, 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin with Father Phillip Jusa officiating. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Lublin. Pallbearers were: Eric and Scott Penk, Tony Penk, Bob Bernklau, Joe and Mike Stokosa.
