OBITUARY OF JAMES PETERSON
The report that James Peterson was killed Friday night was proved
to be only too true. The fatal accident did not take place on the
steam loader, as at first reported, but at the N.W.L. Co.'s Mill
Pond, where the unfortunate young man was engaged in unloading
cars. It seems that Jim was turning a log towards him when he
slipped and fell, the log passing over his body.
The funeral was held in Stanley at 2:30
p.m. Sunday, the interment in the Lutheran cemetery in this town
following. The deceased was an honest, sober, industrious young
man, the only son of Mrs. Nels Michelson of Stanley and a nephew of
Mrs. Solon Larson, wife of our worthy town treasurer. He was
married in June, 1902, to Alice M. Baker of this place, who, with
the other relatives mentioned is left to mourn his early departure,
and to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended in
this their hour of sorrow.
