Mrs. CARL (Albertine Brehmer) PIEPER FUNERAL TO BE HELD AT LOYAL
ALBERTINE FRIEDERIKE WILHELMINE (BREHMER) PIEPER


OBITUARY AS IT APPEARED IN THE LOYAL TRIBUNE 15 April 1930


The deceased, Albertine Pieper nee Bremer, was born on the 7th day of December 1843, in Pomerania, Germany. In early infancy she was brought to the Triune God in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism and later instructed in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian religion and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church to which church she remained a loyal and faithful member. At the age of 24 years she left the land of her nativity and came to the USA and located at Watertown, Wisconsin. On the 16th day of March 1969 she was united in marriage with Carl Pieper and was afforded the rare privilege of enjoying the companionship of one another for a period of 61 years. This union was blessed with seven children.


The family lived in Dodge County for a period of 32 years and moved to Clark County where they resided for the last 29 years. The deceased has been suffering and was helpless for almost 15 years and now for a number of years made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Albertina Rohloff. Last Tuesday she yet desired to partake of Holy Communion and having fulfilled her wish she stated that this would probably be the last time that Holy Communion would be administered to her. At 11:30 P.M. fully conscious until the end, she quietly and peacefully fell asleep to await the awakening on the resurrection morning.


The deceased attained the age of 86 years 4 months and 8 days. She now leaves to mourn her aged and sorrowing husband, four sons and three daughters namely, August Pieper of Beaver Karl Pieper of Clyman, Wisconsin Robert Pieper of Burnett Junction Frank Pieper of Beaver Mrs. Albertina Rohloff of Unity Mrs. Herman Sell of Beaver and Mrs. August Sell of Abbotsford, Wisconsin. Also 26 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends.


Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 10, 1930 at the home and 1:45 P.M. in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in this village, the Reverend H. F. Leschensky officiating. Burial took place in the Lutheran Cemetary, 1 - 1/2 miles north of Loyal.


The pallbearers were William Litka, Ed Wolfe, George Otto, Fred Luther, Theodore Liske and Julius Hinkelmann.


The following 6 grandchildren were flowergirls: Mrs. Alma Breseman, Mrs. Elsie Tolzman, Mrs. Lorna Fohrman, Mrs. Laura Dempsey, Miss Selma Sell and Mrs. Esther Schultz.


Those from away who attended the funeral included the following people: Mrs. James Stotmeister and children of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Radloff and children of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin Mr. Robert Pieper of Burnett, Wisconsin Mr. Charles Pieper of Juneau, Wisconsin Mrs. Albert Prust of Oak Grove, Wisconsin Mr. and Mrs. August Rohrschneider, Mrs. Wallace Rohrschneider of Hustisford and Mrs. Alfred Schwartz of Juneau, Wisconsin.
