Pietrzen, Anton (1904 - 1999)

 

Anton Tony Peter Pietrzen, 95, Owen, died on Tuesday, August 17, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.


Funeral services were held Friday, Augst 20, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, with Reverend Father Al Jakubowski celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation with family and friends was on Thursday, August 19, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers were: Wally Pietrzen, Jr., Denny Henke, Carl Thorne, Ron Hofmann, Jim Krempel and Erland Schweke. Honorary pallbearer was Adam Michur.


Tony Pietrzen was born on June 17, 1904, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. At a young age, Tony and his parents returned to Poland where Tony received his early education. At the age of 21, Tonly returned to the United States and was employed with a shoe factory in St. Louis, Missouri. It was in St. Louis where Tony married the former Harriet Andrukiewicz on January 22, 1928. The young couple moved to reside in Thorp in 1930 and in 1933, they purchased their dairy farm in the Town of Hoard in rural Owen and farmed until retiring. Tony also was employed with Crane's Feed Mill in Owen. He was a resident of the Owen Heights Apartments in Owen from 1995 until the time of his death.


He is survived by his loving sons: Anton Pietrzen of Belvidere, IL, Eugene (Joan) Pietrzen of Dearborn, MI, Walter (Marlene) Pietrzen of Owen 4 grandchildren: Walter Wally (Linda) Pietrzen, Jr. of Eau Claire, Cheryl (Corey) White of Dearborn, MI, Karen Pietrzen and Julie Pietrzen, both of Dearborn, MI 1 great-granddaughter Mandi Carney Pietrzen of Eau Claire.
