Pitt, Donald (1932 - 1999)
Donald Jerome Pitt, 66, Withee, WI, died on Wednesday, January 27, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hosptial Hospice Care in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 30, 1999, 10:30
a.m. at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen with Reverend Linda Dutton
officiating. Visitation was at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen on
Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Donald Pitt was born on October 2, 1932, in Eau Claire, the son of
Gilbert and Gunda (Johnson) Pitt. He was a graduate of Thorp High
School and attended the U of W Milwaukee for business
administration. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army from
1953 to 1955. After his honorable discharge, Don and the former
Evon Offord were united in marriage on June 30, 1956 in the Town of
Reseburg, Thorp. He was employed with the Coca Cola Company in Eau
Claire and from 1958 to 1990, he worked for Foremost Foods, now
Kerry, until his retirement due to illness. With his wife, they
owned and operated Pittridge Western Outfitter in both Wausau and
Owen. In 1994, they sold the business after 25 years. Don had a
great love of horses and enjoyed riding in the Wyoming mountains
and sharing time with his loving family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years Evon Pitt of Withee
son Dean (Jill) Pitt of Edgar daughter Dawn (Randy) Schneebeli of
Willard two brothers Gilbert (Dorothy) Pitt of Delafield, Jon
(Mary) Pitt of Freemont, Nebraska one sister Yvonne Pitt of New
Berlin three grandchildren: Rebecca Pitt, Nyree and Terril
Schneebeli. He was preceded in death by his parents.
